A Party in Hell
The Companions of our Prophet Muhammed (SAW) used to gather to remember death so that they would benefit their souls by increasing in fear of Allaah and strive to gain His pleasure. If this was the case of the Sahaabah and they were the best of generations, the most pious and God-fearing of this ummah, then what about us? Surely, it means that we need to engage in the remembrance of Allaah(SWT) even more. After all, we are in far more need of this act of worship than they were.
Let us begin at the end of a man's life, in his last moments. He is lying on his death bed and his family are at his side. His father is calling for the doctor. His wife asks him: "To whom are you leaving us?". The man's little daughter asks him, "Why do you not answer me?", and his small boy cries but nobody responds to him. This is the situation Allaah, The Most High and The Most High, has informed us about:
"Nay, when the soul reaches the throat, and it is said: "Who will cure him now?". The dying person concludes that this is the time for departing. The leg joins the other leg." [Al-Qiyaamah: 26-29]
They place him in his shroud, his leg joins his other leg. Then he is carried upon the shoulders and taken to a dark hole. If he was a transgressing criminal he cries out: "Woe to it! Where are you taking it?"
"The drive that day will be to your Lord" [Al-Qiyaamah: 30 ]
Then he is lowered into this ditch and dirt is thrown upon him until he is sealed in it. If he was a criminal, Allaah - The Most Perfect and The Most High - says:
"So he neither believed nor did he pray. Rather he belied and turned away" [Al-Qiyaamah: 31-32 ]
This transgressor will remain in his grave alone, there will be no one to sit with him and no one to keep him company. He will feel the heat of the fire, smell its foul odour, and be tortured therein. This man's grave will squeeze in upon him so much so that the bones of his rib cage will cross each other. Despite all this punishment and all this torture and pain, he will hope that the hour will never be established. For this man knows that the hour is far worse and of he will be in greater loss on that Day.
The man hears 'As-Saakhah' from within his grave, and what is 'As-Saakhah'?
It is the second blowing of the trumpet. This is when all that is in the graves shall be raised and resurrected.
So the criminal will cry: "Woe to us, who has woken us from our resting place?" It will be said: "This is what the Ever-Merciful promised and the messengers where truthful" [Yasin: 52]
The earth will be torn away from above him. This man will see the heavens being cleft asunder, the stars falling and being scattered, the oceans in their greatness bursting forth, burning, the graves will at that time bring forth their contents. Every person shall know what he has sent forth of good and bad deeds at that moment. [Al-Infitaar: 1-5]
Then he will raised up and driven to the crowding place: 'Al-Mahshar'. That day, the mother who is nursing her child will become careless of it, the mother who is carrying her child will drop her load. That day, mankind will appear as if they are drunk yet they they are not drunk. Indeed the punishment of your Lord is great. [Al-Hajj 1-2]
The mother will come to her son and say: "Oh my son, my breast was a container for you, my womb was a container for you. Oh my son I seek from you a hasanah (merit) that I may approach Allaah with. My son, do not be greedy towards me". In the world this son would have sacrificed his life, rather many lives for merely the happinness of his mother so how does he treat her now? He responds to her plea: "Get away from me! Leave me! Indeed I am in need of this merit more than you."
"So when 'As-Saakhah' comes. That day a man will flee from his brother, from his mother and his father, from his wife and his children. That day every man shall have enough to make him careless of others." [Al-Abasa: 33-37]
So mankind will wait in this crowding place for 50,000 years, after which Allaah, The Most Perfect and The Most High, will come to judge them. So He will call the criminal and say to him, "Oh so and so, did I not give you of the cold water to drink? did I not give you a healthy body? Did I not give you many bounties? What have you done with all that which I bestowed upon you?"
So the man replies, "I have done nothing my Lord."
So he lies to his Lord on that day. Allaah says: "Where are the witnesses!". So the Angels come and bear witness that this criminal did not pray in those moments of prayer, he drank, fornicated, lied, cursed and insulted. He turned away from belief and was proud and arrogant. So the criminal says to his Lord, "I do not accept a witness except one from myself."
His Lord replies to him, "And you have that?"
"The day when we shall seal their mouths, there hands will speak to us and their legs will bear witness to that which they used to earn" [Yasin: 65]
So he turns to his skin and says to it: it was only for you that I was arguing.
"Nay, when the earth is shaken a true shaking and your Lord comes with the Angels in rows. That day the Fire will be brought near. That day man will remember but how will that remembrance avail him? He will say, 'Woe to me! Would that I had put forth something for this life.' " [Al-Fajr: 21-24]
This man then remembers. This criminal remembers that when he heard the call for prayer and he did not respond to it. He remembers when he woke and the sun had already risen yet he had not prayed al-fajr. This man remembers when he abused this one, when he slandered that one, when he earned that unlawful wealth, when he struck this one and killed that one. This criminal remembers every sin with which he disobeyed Allaah with.That day all his remorse and regret amounts to nothing.
Then Allaah will say, "Seize him and fetter him. Then throw him into the blazing fire. Then put a chain which is 70 cubits long through him. Indeed he did not used to believe in Allaah, The Most Perfect,The Most High."
The Angels will then drag him upon his face into the fire.
As he enters it he will see his friends from the world already present.
"Every time a nation enters it curses it sister nation" [Al-a'araaf: 38].
So he is greeted with curses and given a wretched abode in which to abide. The fire encompasses him from all sides roasting, burning his skin completely,
"Whenever their skins have been done (burnt away) we replace them with new skins so that they may taste of the punishment" [an-Nisaa: 56].
"No food will they have except Ad-Daree'. It neither nourishes nor removes hunger" [Al-Ghaashiyah: 6-7]
When they eat it they choke due to the thorns. So when they are choking they ask to be rescued with water, so they are rescued with an intensely boiling water which grills their faces when they approach it. When they drink from the water, due to its heat, it cuts their intestines and causes them an increased pain.
They eat from Az-Zaquum. They eat a bitter fruit which cannot be tasted.
"Indeed the tree of Zaquum will be the food of the sinners. Like boiling oil, it will boil in the belies, like the boiling of scalding water. It will be said : Drag, seize him and drag him into the midst of the blazing fire. Then pour upon his head the torment of boiling water. Taste! You were pretending to be the Mighty the Generous" [ad-Dukhaan: 43-49]
Due to this intense pain, suffering and anguish they are experiencing they call upon the guardian of hell-fire,
"They call, Oh Maalik let your Lord destroy us" After many years he responds to them with two words "You are staying" [43:77].
After all of this, they have one last chance and they call upon their Lord, "Oh our Lord we were indeed astray! Oh our Lord we were indeed misguided, we did fall short. Return us to the world so that we can do good instead of that which we used to do."
Allaah replies to them, "Rot in it and do not speak to me".
After this they do not speak nor do they utter."
They are then called from afar, "Oh dwellers of the fire, do you know what this is?" They reply, "Yes that is death in the form of a ram."
Death is then slaughtered in a place between Al-Jannah an An-Naar. It is said to the dwellers of the fire, ever-lasting life without death.

People will take up Innovations as being a Sunnah

This present time, is a time wherein, innovations have spread so much that it is looked upon as being a Sunnah by the ignorant and majority of the common people. Sunnah to them is something alien, and their whole corrupted belief is built upon these innovations. It is as if that the Sunnah has been buried. When a knowledgeable person who follows the correct creed in this present time talks of anything being from the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), then he is looked upon as if he is the one introducing new matters in the religion.
He is rebuked by the followers of innovations for this and when he does not act upon these innovations, then he is considered as if he is abandoning a Sunnah. How strange, but true !
This fitnah was prophesized and narrated by a companion of the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) as being said by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam).
It is authentically reported from Ibn Masood (radhiAllaahu anhu) as a saying of the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), that he said:
ﺎﻴﻧﺪﻟا ﻞﻤﻌﺑ ةﺮﺧﻵا , ﻪﻘُﻔُﺗو َ ﺮﻴﻐﻟ ﻦﻳﺪﻟا " لﺎﻗ " : اذإ ﺖﺒﻫذ ﻢﻛؤﺎﻤﻠﻋ , تﺮﺜﻛو ﻢﻛؤاﺮُﻗ , ﺖَّﻠَﻗو ﻢﻛؤﺎﻬﻘﻓ , تﺮُﺜَﻛو ﻢﻛؤاﺮﻣأ , ﺖَّﻠﻗو ْ ﻢﻛؤﺎﻨﻣأ , ِﺖَﺴِﻤُﺘﻟاو
اﻮﻟﺎﻗ : ﻰﺘﻣو كاذ ؟
ءﻲﺷ " ﻞﻴﻗ : ﺖﻛﺮﺗ ﺔﻨﺴﻟا ؟ " ﻒﻴﻛ ﻢﺘﻧأ اذإ ﻢﻜﺘﺴﺒﻟ ﺔﻨﺘﻓ مﺮﻬﻳ ﺎﻬﻴﻓ ﺮﻴﺒﻜﻟا , ﻮﺑﺮﻳو ﺎﻬﻴﻓ ﺮﻴﻐﺼﻟا , ﺎﻫﺬﺨﺘﻳو سﺎﻨﻟا ﺔﻨﺳ , اذإ كﺮﺗ ﺎﻬﻨﻣ
“How will you be when a fitnah (calamity, i.e. innovation) engulfs you such that the adult will grow old (with it) and the youth will be raised upon it, and the people will take it as a Sunnah? So when any part of it (i.e. the innovation) is abandoned, it will be said: Have you abandoned the Sunnah?
They said: When will that be?
He said: (It will be) When your scholars have passed away, your reciters have increased, your Fuqahaa have become few, your leaders become many, your trusted ones decrease, the worldly life is sought after by (doing) the works of the Hereafter, and knowledge is sought for a reason other than the Religion.”
[Reported by ad-Daarimee (1/64) with two chains of narration, the first of which is authentic while the second is hasan. It is also reported by al-Haakim (4/514) and others]
Shaykh Naasiruddin al-Albani (rahimahullaah) said regarding this hadeeth:
, ﺔﻨﺴﻟا ! ﺎﻨﻳد ً ﻊﺒَّﺘُﻳ , اذﺈﻓ ضﺮﻋأ ﺎﻬﻨﻋ ﻞﻫأ ﺔﻨﺴﻟا ﺔﻘﻴﻘﺣ , ﻰﻟإ ﺔﻨﺴﻟا ﺔﺘﺑﺎﺜﻟا ﻪﻨﻋ ﻰﻠﺻ ﻪﻠﻟا ﻪﻴﻠﻋ ﻢﻠﺳو ﻞﻴﻗ : ﺖﻛﺮُﺗ ﺪﻗ ﻖﻘﺤﺗ ﻲﻓ ﺮﺼﻌﻟا ﺮﺿﺎﺤﻟا , ﻦﻣو ﻚﻟذ ةﺮﺜﻛ عﺪﺒﻟا نﺎﺘﺘﻓاو سﺎﻨﻟا ﺎﻬﺑ ﻰﺘﺣ ﺎﻫوﺬﺨﺗا ﺔﻨﺳ , ﺎﻫﻮﻠﻌﺟو ﺖﻠﻗ : اﺬﻫو ﺚﻳﺪﺤﻟا ﻦﻣ مﻼﻋأ ﻪﺗﻮﺒﻧ ﻰﻠﺻ ﻪﻠﻟا ﻪﻴﻠﻋ ﻢﻠﺳو قﺪﺻو ﻪﺘﻟﺎﺳر , نﺈﻓ ﻞﻛ ةﺮﻘﻓ ﻦﻣ ﻪﺗاﺮﻘﻓ
"I say: This hadeeth is one of the signs of his (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam)’s Prophethood and the verity of his Messengership, for indeed every one of its portions has become actualized in this present time. From them is the spread of various innovations, which the people are tested with, such that they have taken them as a Sunnah and (part of the) Religion to be followed. So when the real Ahlus-Sunnah turn away from them towards the Sunnah, which is authentically established on the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), it will be said: 'Has the Sunnah been abandoned?'"

I ask Allaah, that He the Beneficent, awakens in our hearts and intellects a sincere yearning to become acquainted with His Deen. To understand and comprehend, to memorise and implement, to convey and disseminate, in a manner not inconsistent to the methodology employed by our Righteous Predecessors (as-Salaf as-Saaliheen), thus ensuring our deliverance from the above mentioned tribulation which was foretold by the noble Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) of the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).
Planning to get Married? Then Plan it properly

The summer is here and lots of wedding cards are lying on my table.
Some exclusively deserve to participate in the ‘Best Wedding Card’
competitions. These days your status in the society is directly
proportional to your son’s our daughter’s ‘exclusive wedding
invitation’. Now a days wedding ceremonies have special ‘Event Planners’
who plan it according to your budgets. Many new careers have been
carved out of this self invented compulsion in social custom.
Look at the expenses mentioned below that tell us how our wedding budgets are getting obese .Kindly note that the below mentioned money is not to be spend on the groom and bride but on other people.
1. Hiring the Hall 15,000/ - 1,00,000/
2. Decorating the Hall 20,000/- 1,00,000/
3. Welcome drinks 10,000/ - 50,000/
4. Starters 25,000 – 3,0,000/
5. Dinner 1,00,000 - ………./
6. Wedding Cards
7. Hotel rooms for out station guests…….
8. Local transportation for outstation guests
9. Gifts to the close relatives of groom by the bride’s family
10. …… 11………12………..
These are some compulsory expenses which have become a norm of our times. People have sold of their flats and other properties to meet the expenses of daughters. A close neighbour I know of, owned a big business and stayed in a large two bedroom apartment. He had four daughters. During the marriage of his first daughter he sold his flat and shifted to a smaller apartment. A couple of years later he sold his smaller flat too and shifted to a smaller apartment. By the time his fourth daughter got married, the man was selling post cards on the footpaths of the city!
An Islamic marriage is easy to plan and you can plan to make it easy. But the point is, how do we convince our elders that we want to save their hard earned money? It all depends upon how strong your arguments are. Begin with some questions to yourselves and your elders. Is it necessary to invite a huge crowd even if we are rich? Do you know how much money just an ice cream costs which is served after the dinner? Is it wise to spend lacs of Rupees for a few hours of get together?
How many nikah take place in our own city every May-June? Hundreds ! If we save our wealth from being paid to caterers, decorators ! How about conducting nikah in Masjids only ? Our Masjids are community centers. We can save huge amount of wealth. Next time when some one in your family is getting married don’t forget to offer your polite suggestions. Who knows how many families can be saved from getting bankrupt dues to marriages ! And Allah too rightly says” who ever intercedes for a good cause shall have a share in it… Surah Nisa' ch 4, verse 86

A very thoughtful article by Suzanne Reisman caught my attention: Would the American Economy Collapse if Women Stopped Hating Their Natural Appearance?
In the US the cosmetics industry is a $30 billion industry with an annual growth rate of 20% and Cosmetics are recession-proof, as they are always in demand. Vanity is keeping the American women poor and if women collectively decided that we were fine with our faces without makeup enhancing them, it would certainly cost the American economy an enormous amount of money and thousands of jobs would be lost.
Have a look at the daily self-prepping inorder that she looks appealing to people in her college, her office in buses and trains in malls....: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, face wash, , body lotion, face moisturizer, blusher, a bit of glimmer for my cheeks, eyeliner, mascara, lip gloss, and perfume. Most American women also add in regular salon and spa stuff like spray tanning, waxing, highlights, haircuts, manis, pedis, microdermabrasion and Botox……
How far can women go to ahceive that oop beauty index ! Nearly 11.7 million cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures were performed in the US in 2007 -- a 446 per cent increase in 10 years, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Surgery. Botox injections and liposuction are the most popular nonsurgical and surgical procedures.
Quite simply: It costs more to be a woman !Financially and pyshcologically. The nonprofit YWCA in the US said women and girls are spending increasing amounts of money in their bid to look like idealized, air-brushed magazine models.

Are women safe while using the cosmetics ? A report titled "Skin Deep" by theEnvironmental Working Group (EWG), a non-profit research institute based in Washington, D.C. showed that 89 percent of 10,500 ingredients used in lipstick, nail polish, hair coloring, soap, and other personal-care products have not been evaluated for safety...89 percent !
The compact or talcum owder causes asthmatic attacks.. Strong perfumes cause allergic reaction and respiratory problems.. Anti ageing cream cause pigmentation , pimples and dark patches….Fairness creams bring hair on faces, acnes and pimples… lipsticks darkens the lips… Hair removal causes irritation and burns…(DNA Jan 15 ,2007)
That brings us to the Qur’anic advice to women.. O Prophet Tell your wives, your daughters and believing men that they should cast their outer garments over their persons when abroad.. that is most convenient that they should be known and not molested….Surah al-Ahazab, ch 33:59
Note the last word “Not Molested” is “Fala U’dhaiyn” it does not mean eve teasing only.. rather it covers all aspects of harassments including psychological exploitation, depressed obsession towards looks.. But if she is covered ? Does she requires to show her employee and her co workers and her customers her looks and spend a large part of her income to please them by her looks ? Its only for her husband that she beautifies her self and that husband if loving he would not want his beloved wife to have a bag full of chemical cosmetics that can be more injurious than beneficial.

The evidence is in the verse 31,of Surah Rum : And among his signs is that He created mates for you from you, and in them you find solace , and He made affection and mercy between you. In this are signs for people who are intelligent
“ how many marriages do you manage to fix up every year”? I had asked this question to a matrimonial center few years back. “ We have over 500 bio datas but manage to get only 12- 15 people get married”. I thought that his organization was inefficient in fixing marriages, so I cross checked it with a few other centers but the statistics seemed parallel. It’s a truth that the Muslims have started delaying the marriages of young men and women not realizing the harm that it is causing to the community and their deen
If some one wants to gauge the results of delayed marriages then let him study the scattered family life of the West. The Marriages there face stiff competition from legalized gayism, lesbianism, live in relations, open affairs………
An average Muslim youth may not go into these sins due to the social bonds that they enjoy, but there are other equally dangerous secret sinful options due to the suppression of sexual desires. If sexual urge is not addressed at the right age and the right way then, there are ways which offers shameless refuge to the youth. This gives rise to porn watching, fantasy sex, masturbation, visiting prostitutes and other secret acts that damage the mental health of a large number of youth.
Islam has protected modesty through halal options. The right age of marriage in the Islamic law is the age of puberty, but in a Non Muslim country like India where the law permits you to get married at the age of 21 if you are a boy and 18 if you are a girl then why prevent the young people from getting married by frightening them from questions like” how will you focus on your career?” or “what will you feed?” “are you standing on your feet?” The Non Muslim Gujarati Community gets their boys married by the time they are twenty two, so that by the time this young men finish their graduation and take up the reins of their father’s business or a job their father is still young around 50 and he joins a charitable organization and gives time for the community service. There are no less then hundred such centers superbly run by the Gujarati community’s middle aged young men who have time.
There are a few common reasons for delayed marriages in the society
Boys want to complete their studies and feel that their spouse may disturb them. Ah! There are so many industrialists, entrepreneurs, sportsmen..... who not only have wives and children but also multiple companies, and events to focus on. Many of them even find time to go around with girl friends, yet they flourish. So how can your wife be an obstacle in your prosperity?
Impractical Expectations : With item girls, fashion models and beauty princess rewriting the definition of good looks, every young men hunts or desires a tall, fair and slim girl. “ My Dream Girl” is the title floating in their minds. On the other hand, the beautiful girl’s parents will settle for men who are rich, own a car, and afford expensive holidays and above all, they must not have many sisters to interfere in the daughters affair. “ after all my daughter is beautifoooool” So the hunt goes on and young men wait for money and the beautiful girl wait for rich men.
Lack of fund for Marriage and Rituals: One of the reasons of the Prophet hood of Muhammed (pbuh) is clearly mentioned in Surah Ar’af ch 7 verse 157:…. He frees them from the yokes bonded on their necks….. Lavish Walima, Expensive gifts to the realtives of bride and groom are the yokes in our necks. Islam has made marriage easy. Walimas are not supposed to be hosted in huge halls and invitations are not a status symbol if you cannot afford them. We have elevated these customs but there were marriages in the Prophet’s time when the sahaba did not invite him in their walimas. !!!!
There can be hundred more reasons I can write and refute them all, but for time being let me free you so that you may think over it yourselves.
